Howard University Students 

If you are a continuing Howard University student interested in summer housing, please check back during spring 2020 for details regarding the application process.

Students graduating in May 2020 must apply through our Intern Housing Application.

Individual Interns (Non-Howard University Students)

During May through August, we offer affordable, suite-style, on-campus housing to eligible non-Howard University students who have secured internships or supervised research positions in the Washington, DC area and surrounding jurisdictions.

Interns may request to live in a private or shared bedroom in the newly renovated, Howard Plaza Towers – East or West. All bedrooms are furnished with an extra-long, twin sized bed and mattress, as well as a dresser and desk. All suites are equipped with an in-suite bathroom and kitchen. Interested applicants can check our amenities page for a detailed listing.

Eligibility 

To be eligible for summer accommodations, all applicants requesting summer housing in the Howard Plaza Towers must be at least 18 years of age or older by the expected check-in date.

Proof of internship, educational program, scholarly research or enrollment in a local college or university must be submitted prior to move-in. Failure to provide appropriate documentation may result in loss of housing.

All applicants are also required to pass a background check prior to residing in any on-campus facilities. A $25.00 processing fee is required and added to housing costs.

Application Process

Interested applicants should complete our Summer Housing Inquiry Form, providing detailed information relating to your summer housing needs. A member of our team will get back to you with the following information, which needs to be completed, signed and returned in order to successfully secure your housing request.

A completed housing application must be emailed to Howard.SummerHousing@corvias.com with the following information accompanied:

  • Proof of employment/internship or enrollment in courses at a local college or university (offer and acceptance letters).
  • Signed Howard University Residence Hall Summer Individual License Agreement.
  • Acknowledgement of summer housing costs, via a signed invoice.
  • A $100.00 pre-payment is due upon submitting the signed agreement. Payment must be paid and received in full, via credit card, or certified check or money order at least 72 hours prior to check-in. Personal checks are not accepted. Access our summer housing rates page to pay now.
  • Additional requests, if applicable

Cancellation Requests

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 30 days prior to an interns scheduled arrival date. A $250 cancellation fee will apply. Reservations cancelled after this timeframe will result in a $500 fee.
